Professional Jesse Frederick offers a strong creative sense to the Imagine Yachts team. Though music has been Mr. Frederick's primary business until Imagine Yachts, he has had considerable success in theater, film, advertising, talent and portfolio management. As a highly successful vocal performer and composer of music for television, he authored enough themes to popular television programs for the Nielsen Rating System to honor him as "one of the top 15 composers of the nineties". The American Society Of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) honored Mr. Frederick with over nine "Most Performed Theme" and "Top Five Composer" awards. As president of Stiletto Music, Inc., Mr. Frederick owned and operated a successful music production company, with over fifteen years of consistent commitments as a "sub-contractor" for Warner Brothers Television, and all of the major television networks.
Jesse has been a waterman his entire life. Growing up on the Nanticoke River in Delaware, Mr. Frederick acquired a deep appreciation of the water from his grandfather, who in his youth was a shipwright by trade building Skipjacks and schooners at the historic Bethel Shipyard. Jesse's Irish ancestry (his forefathers sailed from Ireland to America in 1740) feeds his passion for sailing and the water. He has been a sailboat owner and cruising sailor for many years. Cruising After deciding to retire from film scoring and move his family away from the "pace" of Los Angeles, Jesse sold his sailboat in Marina Del Rey. He took on the project of building a vessel for a planned two year sailing sabbatical with his family. His considerable drafting, architectural and space planning skills (utilized for years by a professional interior designer - Jesse's wife) were invaluable to his vessel design. This raised salon design he presented to Ta Yang, became the first Tayana 58 Deck Saloon. The success of that design endeared Ta Yang to Mr. Frederick, and they became and have remained mutual admirers. Mr. Frederick, his wife and two children cruised for two years and eventually circumnavigated the Caribbean as "live-aboards" on their Tayana 58DS. They departed from Annapolis, Maryland and followed the "Thorny Path" south, leaving virtually no island unexplored. They spent their first hurricane season in Trinidad, WI, before sailing on to Venezuela, the Aves, the Roches and Bonaire. Due to concern for child safety and insurance restrictions, they avoided Cuba and Colombia, and eventually sailed trans-Caribbean from the Dutch WI to the BVI's. They enjoyed the "pleasures and conveniences" of the BVI's for an extended stop over before returning to Annapolis in the summer of 1999.Email Jesse Frederick at jfrederick@imagineyachts.com |
